HP 50g Calculator - Replacing the Decimal Point with Comma

Decimal points in floating-point numbers can be replaced by commas. To replace decimal points with commas, change the ‘FM’ option in the ‘CALCULATOR MODES’ input form to commas.

  1. Enter the number 123.4567890123456.

  2. Press .
  3. Press the button. Next, use the down arrow key, , once, and the right arrow key, , highlighting the option ‘_FM,’. To select commas, the 'FM' field is checked.
  4. Press the soft menu key. The input form will look as follows:

  5. Press the soft menu key return to the calculator display. The number entered is now shown as:

  6. To select the decimal point, return to the 'CALCULATOR MODES' input form by pressing the button. Use the down arrow key, , and the right arrow key, , thus highlighting the option ‘_FM,’ and then uncheck the 'FM' field with the key.
  7. Press to exit the 'CALCULATOR MODES' input form.
